Vermilion Flycatcher in Becker County

'Accidental' in Minnesota - First record for Becker County

This sub-adult was one of two (!) males photographed on private property near the community of Richwood, north of Detroit Lakes. One of the individuals has reportedly been present since October 21, while the arrival date of the other male is unknown. The news of their occurrence first became available on November 3, and at least one of the birds is reportedly still present today, November 5. In accordance with the property owner's wishes, the exact location and his contact information cannot be given out on-line, but arrangements for additional access are now pending, and any information on this would be posted on the mou-net listservice. As posted recently on mou-net and on this Recently Seen page, another Vermilion Flycatcher was present in Cook County on November 2, for a total of three individuals in the state this week!
