'Rare Regular' in Minnesota
This adult Lesser Black-backed Gull has been making an appearance on Lake Calhoun in Minneapolis for the last several days. While standing on the floating dock its dark slate-grey upperparts contrasted with blackish long folded primaries giving it an attenuated appearance revealing a white mirror on P10. Yellow legs, pale yellow irides, and bright yellow bill with a prominent red gonydeal spot. Fun to observe this LBBG stationary out of the water and see the details.
