Uncommon in Anoka County in the Winter season
Last Friday's Tribune said there were 80 R-H woodpeckers wintering over this year at Cedar Creek in East Bethel. I went to see and found 4 along the paths. An overcast day made for poor picture taking but I was happy to find them. From there to Marine on the St. Crois to see if the Varied Thrush was present. Kurt Schulzetenberg had already summoned it 10 minutes earlier. May be the calmest bird I've ever encountered. More picture taking in poor light but a lifer, so a good day.
