Blue Grosbeak in Renville County

'Rare Regular' in Minnesota

This Blue Grosbeak was found by Josh Wallestad, Ben Douglas, and myself in Renville County, just north of 212 between the towns of Renville and Danube (at the intersection of Cty. Rd. 59 and 840th Ave). We also heard a second bird singing farther back in the grove of trees while we were observing this one. This stop was part of a circuit along which Josh Wallested had found multiple Blue Grosbeaks two years ago, though he had checked most of these spots again last summer and earlier this summer without success.
