This Buff-breasted Sandpiper was discovered around 8:30am, 8/1/06 on Minnesota Point, (the lakeside), halfway between the breakwall and the airport. The bird appeared relatively inactive until two Ring-billed gulls nearby took flight due to my approach. It then took flight, gaining quick altitude, and appeared to fly off towards Wisconsin Point.
