First record for Lac qui Parle County in the Spring season

This juvenile Plegadis ibis at Munnwyler Lake on 19 August 2006 was one of 25 Plegadis ibis observed by Jeanie M. Joppru and Peder H. Svingen in Big Stone/Lac Qui Parle counties over the weekend. A flock of 17 was found in a wetland along state highway 28 west of Graceville on the 19th and 5 were at Big Stone NWR on the 20th. Singles were discovered in three more locations. Munnwyler Lake is located about a mile east of US 75 on Big Stone County Road 64, northeast of Ortonville.
