'Casual' in Minnesota - Five or fewer records in Mower County for the Summer season
Liz Harper and I found this Scissor-tailed Flycatcher just east of Dexter, MN in Mower County on I-90 going eastbound. Originally drove past the bird at speed when Liz said: "what was that?!" There was no one behind us so she slammed on the brakes and pulled over. I initially passed the bird off as a Western Kingbird, as that was a species we had been searching for. This was an initial observation in Monarch 5 10x42 Binoculars. Then I saw the long tail flick and I immediately grabbed my scope body and balanced it out the window. It was at this time I realized I was looking at a Scissor-tailed Flycatcher. I proceeded to take a couple doc shots, and Liz got out and took some quality shots using her camera.
