Could hardly believe our eyes when we spotted this American Avocet sitting on the ice of Lake Bemidji near the mouth of the river connecting to Lake Irving this morning! Watched the bird for just over an hour before it stretched it's wings and took off towards Irving. Was not able to relocate, but ran out of time to search...
