Common in Anoka County in the Fall season

While the vast majority of American Redstarts depart the state in August and September, at least a few stragglers are seen in October each year. This female was hunting for insects early this afternoon in the cattail edge adjacent to the canoe launch on George Watch Lake at Wargo Nature Center.
