Common in Lake County in the Fall season
This juvenile was found along the Lighthouse Point trail in Two Harbors. Note the extensive whitish area on the underparts along with some mottling in the gray coloration; an adult is solid gray below. In addition, this bird's under tail coverts (not visible in this image) were pale orange or peach-colored, unlike the dark red color of an adult. In my experience, this juvenile plumage is seldom seen in Minnesota – I can recall seeing it only a handful of times previously.
