Red-tailed Hawk in Jackson County

Common in Jackson County in the Spring season

This adult "Krider's" Red-tailed Hawk was seen perched on fence post (inset) along I-90 near mile marker 40, just west of Worthington. With traffic and a howling south wind, I was lucky to get off a couple of quick shots. This bird also showed extensive white patterning throughout its upper parts, more than on a typical Eastern RTHA. A very striking bird.
