Who We Are
The Lakes Area Birding Club was founded by Betsy Beneke in 1990 for birders in the Detroit Lakes area. New birders are always welcome, and we currently have 80 members.
Membership dues are $8.00 per year/per household. We also raise funds by T-shirt and sweatshirt sales.
Our Newsletter is the Marsh Wren-dition and has been published since 1991. It is mailed to our members six times per year.

Detroit Lakes Festival of Birds
Our club helps to plan this annual event, which is held the third weekend in May. At this time, spring migration is usually at its peak in our area, where prairie meets both northern hardwood and pine forests. Activities include field trips, workshops, speakers, bird walks, arts & crafts. For information and registration forms (when available) contact
