The 1965-Summer Season
1 June through 31 July 1965
Ronald L. Huber

Weatherwise, this summer was quite normal. The usual heat and drought in July and August probably stifled some earnest efforts on the part of some observers.

Extremely high water in some areas no doubt affected the local wateTfowl populations. Most prairie species fared quite well, while warblers and some of the other boreal nesters were reported less frequently than usual. The latter situation is probably due to a decrease in birding activity in the northeastern portion of the state this summer.

The format used here will be the same as was used for the last Summer Season: nesting evidence will be listed and then any county records will follow.
