1930SummerThis species seans to nest in large colonies over most of the entire state. A nest at Minneapolis held five eggs on May 28th (the writer). The latest nest held young birds on June Z5th (Marius Morse). -34
1931SummerMar..y colonies reported by all observers. An adult noted excavating by Mr. Swedenborg on May 29th.
1932SummerA nest of this species which was started on May 11th cvntained 1 egg on May 18th (Downey 1 Eisele). The latest nests were found July 22nd, when several still harbored young (Swe~enborg).
1933Summer Fram data received on eleven colonies we find that the first investigatocl nest was cxanined on May 21st by Hiar.1onz, ncar Onania. This nest held 7 eggs. Our last date is supplied by Grincs, who exruninod a nest in Pennington County on Juno 13th, the contents of said nest being one newly-hatched young a.nd 5 eggs.
1934Summer The fix'st occupied nest o£ this grcge.rious species 't-ras reported by Risser, who found it on l4a.y 19th at Frontenac. Fivo eggs were hidden at the end &f this burrow. Nearly a month previously, on April 22nd.. Hr. and Hrs. Mahle, Jensen and Evans had watched a Bank Swallow carrying t1dgs. Mr. and Hrs • Swe;denborg found several nests with young on July 4th, our latest date.

On May 19th Swedenborg saw a nest lined but empty • And on June 1st, he discovered nests with 2 and 4 eggs a.t Ona.mia. Erickson is la.st, for he eamo upon a nest with 4 eggs July 27th in Morrison County.
1936Summer Kenneth Caroander found the 11Sand Martins" nlrea.dy nesting on May 1.0th on which date they uere.;i.ncubo.t'ing eggs. E. D. Swedenborg observed them building on Nay 17th; he also fm.md nestling Bank Swallows on this date.
1938SummerA sand martin colony near Frontenac was examined on May 20 by Kenneth Carh.nd~r; it con­tained many nests of eggs. The nests were badly infested with bird fleas (Siphonap­tera). Bob Upson saw a large colony near Lake Traverse on June 7· In St. Louis County, Dr. Prvsser noted a colony,pn June r r. Mr. E. D. Swedenborg found a nest of young on July 7 at Minneapolis.
1940SummerC. Hero found a nest with an egg on May I9 ncar Ren· ville and approximately 50 nests at Fond du Lac on July I5. Lakela, Graybeal, Elwell, Maher and Hero saw approxi­mately 8o nests on July 7 at Cascade Falls in the Superior National Forest. At Sturgeon Lake on May 25, G. Rysgaard found a nest with 3-4 eggs.

1944SummerApril 29, one nest and four excavations, Fort Snelling, Brother Hubert and Brother Pius. May 21, four eggs; June 27, 33 nests with young; Dakota County, Hofstead and Olson. June 22, one building, and one with two eggs, St.. Paul, Hofstead. Brother Hubert reports on an estimated 1,000 birds digging nests on June 23, Ramsey County.
