The past week has been so stormy that both birds and humans have hunkered down. Summer appears to have lasted all of three days, now fall weather is upon us.
Shelley Steva spotted a SWAINSON'S HAWK four miles south of Brooks in Polk County on August 17.
At Agassiz NWR in Marshall County, the weekend shorebird survey found 17 species of shorebirds. Included was one BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER and one WILLET. After the storms on the weekend and earlier this week, a lot of the habitat is covered with water, and most of the birds have moved on, replaced by many brown ducks of several species.
Thanks to Shelley Steva for her report.
