This is the Duluth Birding Report for Thursday, August 29th, sponsored by the Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.

A CAROLINA WREN turned up yesterday at 624 Laurel in Cloquet. The homeowner is willing to allow birders to come to see the bird.

There was a large flight of COMMON NIGHTHAWKS on the evening of Saturday the 24th. Kim Eckert counted 4,495 nighthawks from the Lakewood Pumping Station just between the hours of 5:30 and 7:50 pm.

Jim Barrett reported STILT SANDPIPERS and GREATER YELLOWLEGS from the 40th Ave West/Erie Pier area today. Tim Dawson reported that the GREAT EGRET is still at the pond at the Duluth Retriever Club on Lester River Road. Sally Stout reported an albino bird, most likely a Black-capped Chickadee, from the Barnes, Wisconsin area.
