This is the Minnesota birding report for Thursday July 13th, sponsored by the Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.

The male PAINTED BUNTING is still singing in the cul-de-sac area of Comstock Lane, Maple Grove, Hennepin County.
The EURASIAN TREE SPARROW is still being seen in Clay County. Please call me for directions.
YELLOW-THROATED WARBLERS are still being seen in Sibley State Park, Kandiyohi County. Ask for recent sightings and directions at the park Visitor's Center.
Most unusual was the pair of MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRDS reported at Lake Louise State Park just north of LeRoy in Mower County on July 1st. They were seen feeding along the road side.
On July 8th Diane Anderson found a SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER along Olmsted County Road 4 about a half mile east of its intersection with County Road 103 but it has not been reported since then.
A CAROLINA WREN was heard on the 9th at the Rosemount Water Treatment Plant parking lot on 140th Street in Dakota County, but I have no further information.
A BELL'S VIREO was heard on July 8th in Kingston Park in Cottage Grove, Washington County. To get to the park take U.S. Highway 61 south from I-494 and turn east onto 70th St. to Jamaica. Go south on Jamaica to 75th St. and turn east. Go .2 miles and turn right into Kingston Park. From the far parking lot take the paved trail that goes south between the soccer fields and then take the left fork toward the trees. The bird was heard from both sides of the trail in this small grove of bushes and trees.
On the 10th a CLARK'S GREBE was found on Section Lake in Lyon County. From the town of Ruthton in Pipestone County go north on state highway 23 to county road 88, turn right on county road 88 and go to Murray county road 25. Turn left on county road 25 to county road 12. Turn left on county road 12 and then take the first right.
Rick Hoyme reports that the THREE-TOED WOODPECKER and BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER previously reported from Cook County can still be found along Lima Mountain Road three miles west of the Gunflint Trail.
And finally, a pair of OSPREY can be seen on a nesting platform west of the Coon Rapids dam in Hennepin County, and a few RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH have begun to show up a feeders in the Twin Cities area. Hap Huber reported one from New Hope, Hennepin County on the 11th.
