This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Thursday, July 8th.
A possible SAGE THRASHER was reported belatedly from June 26th from the Dodge Nature Center in Ramsey County. The center is located at 365 Marie Avenue West in West Saint Paul.
A late RED-THROATED LOON was reported off Park Point in Duluth on July 3rd. It was seen from the boardwalk near the airport buildings.
A NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD was found along the Gunflint Trail in Cook County on the 3rd in an open area where the road crosses Seagull Creek, about a mile and a half from Seagull Lake.
On the 8th, a LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE was seen in Dodge County on a fence wire along 575th Street, about half a mile west of the Dodge - Olmsted county line.
There are several HENSLOW'S SPARROWS that can be found at Afton State Park in Washington County. They are in the large field at the northern end of the park south of 50th Street.
