This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Thursday, December 6th 2007.
A LONG-TAILED DUCK was at Lock and Dam #2 of the Mississippi River in Hastings, Dakota County on the 3rd.
Harley Hanson found a GREAT GRAY OWL on the 2nd at milepost 183 of state highway 200 between Hill City and Jacobson in Aitkin County.
A CAROLINA WREN is visiting the feeders at the Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center in Lanesboro, Fillmore County. It was first reported on December 1st.
A VARIED THRUSH was at the feeders of the Tamarac NWR headquarters near Detroit Lakes in Becker County, but it has not been seen since December 3rd.
Unusual is the OVENBIRD being seen at the Quarry Hill Nature Center feeders in Rochester, Olmsted County. The bird has been visiting for about ten days.
