This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Thursday, March 27th 2008.
Dave Bartkey found a ROSS'S GOOSE on the 26th at Alexander Park in Faribault, Rice County.
On the 25th, Ken Vail reported a SNOWY OWL along Dodge County Road 3 about seven miles south of Claremont and between 690th Street and 700th Street.
Barry Jones reported a TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE on the 27th from the Rapids Lake Unit of the Minnesota Valley NWR in Carver County. This is just east of the county road 45 parking area near a stand of junipers.
A VARIED THRUSH was just reported today from Todd County, but has been seen since mid October at the home of Bonita and Lynn Hammond in Moran Township.
New reports include DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANT, TURKEY VULTURE, EASTERN PHOEBE, CHIPPING SPARROW, SONG SPARROW, FOX SPARROW, and both EASTERN MEADOWLARK and WESTERN MEADOWLARK.
