This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Thursday, April 1st, 2010.
The female BARROW'S GOLDENEYE was still in the Duluth harbor on March 27th. It was found near the Duluth Rowing Club off Park Point.
Twelve LONG-TAILED DUCKS were reported on the 27th at Lake Superior's Stoney Point in St. Louis County, and four more were seen on the 28th at Agate Bay in Two Harbors, Lake County.
A few LAPLAND LONGSPURS have been noted moving northward through the state.
Two PECTORAL SANDPIPERS were at Lake Byllesby in Dakota County on the 29th. New spring arrivals include GREEN-WINGED TEAL, OSPREY, COMMON LOON, GREEN HERON, WILSON'S SNIPE, AMERICAN WOODCOCK, BONAPARTE'S GULL, YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER, NORTHERN FLICKER, TREE SWALLOW, WINTER WREN, RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET, HERMIT THRUSH, YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER, and RUSTY BLACKBIRD.
