This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Monday May 27th, 2013.
This morning, Karl Bardon found a WILSON'S PLOVER on the beach at Park Point in Duluth. Up until at least 1:30 this afternoon, the bird was present on the lake side of the point out from the Sky Harbor airport. From the parking lot at the end of Park Point, walk east past the gate on the north side of the airport for about 250 yards, then cross to the beach side and scan the shore.
Also at Park Point, an adult LITTLE GULL was found by Mike Hendrickson on the 21st near the Sky Harbor Airport. And Peder Svingen found an immature Little Gull on the same day on the Minnesota side of the Superior Entry.
On May 22nd, Doug Kieser reported a SAY'S PHOEBE at the Felton Prairie in Clay County. The only directions I have is that it was on the north end of the so-called "longspur road."
Suzanne Winckler had a BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK visit her feeder in Embarrass, St. Louis County, on the 25th.
Carol Carter reported a NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD on the 22nd at Sturgeon Lake in Pine County. It was in the side yard and back yard of the house at the corner of 1st Avenue and Towne Street.
The next scheduled update is Thursday June 6th, 2013.
