This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Thursday September 25th.

There was still at least one BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER at the 40th Avenue West mud flats in Duluth on the 20th. Both AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER and WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER were also present there.

LEAST BITTERNS were seen at the Old Cedar Avenue Bridge area of Bloomington, Hennepin County on the 21st. And a male BLACK-THROATED BLUE WARBLER was found along the bluff trail west of the parking lot. It was seen from the first short bridge after the two long bridges.

Interesting was the immature FERRUGINOUS HAWK reported on the 24th from east of Pine City in Pine County. The bird was at the junction of Copper Canyon Road and Northern Road. This location is one mile north of Pine County Road 8 and about two and a half miles east of Cross lake.

An unidentified JAEGER was seen off Park Point in Duluth on the 24th. Other migrants reported recently include WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW, HARRIS'S SPARROW, LAPLAND LONGSPUR, and PURPLE FINCH.
