I had a belated report of a Say's Phoebe from northern Hubbard County by
a homeowner along U.S. Highway #71, the bird was seen last weekend in a
yard 1.5 miles south of South Lake Plantagenette Rd., this would be
near the south end of the open farms fields south of the small gift shop
with many obnoxious signs along the highway. The bird was present last
weekend. The homeowner said they will call me if the bird reappears and
I will post the sighting if the homeowner approves it. The homeowner
seemed reasonably knowledgeable about bird identification but she said I
could confirm it if it reappeared.

Also, saw one Rock Wren on Tuesday morning, June 29th, at the Aggregate
Co. gravel pit as previously reported in the Felton Prairie complex just
west of Bicentennial Prairie TNC. The bird was singing repeatedly on
Rock Pile 6002 at 8 a.m., and catching insects on the ground below the
rock piles. I saw it carry a grasshopper into the rocks at the top of
6002, perhaps carrying food into a nest I did not find or see the
Ferruginous Hawk reported near the Hutterite Colony prairies midway
between the Felton Prairies and Buffalo River St. Pk. Good numbers of
Western Kingbirds and Upland Sandpipers were seen and heard in both
areas.
