Nice photo, Mike.
Looks like a male Dorocordulia libera, Racket-tailed emerald.
There are records from the NE 1/3 of MN, more or less (down to metro),
and most of WI and on into Canada.
Pre-1940 U of M specimens include this sp. from St. Louis Co.
There are probably modern records, but I don't have that info.
This makes me wish I were out "dragon hunting" . . .

If you know what this is let me know. It was caught in the back roads
of Stone Lake Rd. in the Sax Zim bog. It was defending a area of lily
pads and chasing four-spotted Skimmers and Frosted Whitefaces.
