I was unable to open the link you noted so am not sure what it said. I 
found nothing very specific in any of the major works on mMnnesota birds.
Roberts(1936)  "no means scarce in the wilder parts of the state" and 
 "large numbers of Swifts still nest in the forests of Minnesota in the 
old way"
Hatch(1892) "they are reported from every part of the State as 
abundently represented"
