At 2:15 this afternoon I saw a Loggerhead Shrike in Dodge county
sitting on a wire on 575th St, sixth tenths of a mile west of the
Dodge - Olmsted county line, otherwise known as Olmsted county road 5.

>From Douglas go west on 75th St to the county line, go north for a 1/10 =
of a mile
on county road 5 to 575th St. and go west on 575th St for 6/10 mile.
>From Byron take county road 5 north to 575th St., etc.
>From US Hwy 52 I'm not sure how to get there due to all the =
construction,
I usually take 65th St NW to county road 3 north to 75th St...

The bird was 1/10 of a mile west of the radio tower on 575th St.
This is about a mile or two east of where I have been able to find
Loggerhead's for the past few years.
Also saw a couple Red-headed Woodpeckers on 75th St (Olmsted Co)
within a 1/2 mile of the county line.

Good to know there are still a few individuals of both species hanging =
on in the area.
