This is the Minnesota Birding Report for Thursday, June 28th 2007.

A BLACK-BELLIED WHISTLING-DUCK was reported at the Rice Lake National
Wildlife Refuge in Aitkin County on the 25th. Directions from the Refuge
Wildlife Drive are to go past the observation platform on Rice Lake,
then just beyond the west gate watch the wetlands on the south side of
the road.

A male CINNAMON TEAL has been seen at the Canby sewage ponds in Yellow
Medicine County for the past two weeks. It was first reported on the
16th.

Bob Russell and Kim Eckert reported a MUTE SWAN on the 22nd from the
northwest public access to Lake Hassel just north of Benson in Swift
County.

On June 23rd, Bob Dunlap found a YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT at Minneopa State
Park near Mankato in Blue Earth County. From the campground entrance off
state highway 68, drive into the park and take the first left into the
prairie. Drive to where the road begins to veer left towards the hills.
The chat was singing on the right side of the road here.

The next scheduled update of this tape is Thursday, July 5th 2007.
