[mou] Snowy Owl, Blackbird

My Dad and I birded the 169 corridor from Milaca north to Aitkin.  Two highlights:

* Snowy Owl on 370th along 169 in Aitkin County (see Warren Nelson's previous post).  Great looks on top of a power pole, tree and in flight.

* Blackbird along 169.  Initially appeared to be a Grackle (including purplish sheen on head) - but size, brown color and length of tail (including a good view of the bird in flight, full fan but significantly shorter) made us think Rusty thoughts (which is not listed on the Mille Lacs County list in winter).  A less than ideal photo (due to lighting) will be posted later on flickr.com/natester166.
