We have been fortunate to have a pair of Pileated Woodpeckers visit our
peanut feeders and oak trees weekly since early December. This morning,
while walking in the neighboring Crepeau Nature Preserver, I was able to
observe the female Pileated woodpecker AND a Barred Owl. For several months
we have seen an owl being chased by crows, but never long enough to
identify. This am, he/she sat still on the edge of a pond for about 30
minutes.

P.S. We saw 24 bald eagles and an American White Pelican on the Mississippi
River Sunday. We observed them from the new bike path in South St. Paul
across the river from the Pigs Eye outlet.
