This is the Duluth Birding Report for June 22nd, 2012 sponsored by the Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.

A WHITE-WINGED DOVE was found by Shawn Conrad on the 17th at his feeders near Grand Rapids, and the bird was still present on the 21st.

Hans de Grys reported five DICKCISSELS at the Sax-Zim Bog on the 16th on the west side of CR 29, just south of the Watsula Road (CR 747). Shawn Conrad reported a singing DICKCISSEL in Bovey, Itasca County, on the 15th near the ball fields and tennis courts. Bob Williams found another DICKCISSEL in Itasca County on the 21st along MN 6, 2.3 miles north of US Highway 2 north of Deer River

Eric Collins saw three RED-THROATED LOONS on the 18th from the 12th Street access on Park Point in Duluth. Peggy Aldrich has had a RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER for the past week in her Lakeside neighborhood along West Oxford Street.
