This is the Duluth Birding Report for September 6th, 2013 sponsored by the Minnesota Ornithologists' Union.

Single MISSISSIPPI KITES were found by Karl Bardon at Hawk Ridge in Duluth on September 4th and August 27th. Karl also saw a GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE fly over Hawk Ridge on the 5th. Peder Svingen found a juvenile RED KNOT on the 3rd at the Park Point Recreation Area and a FRANKLIN'S GULL on the 1st. Erik Bruhnke saw three BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS at Park Point on the 5th.

Karl and Peder found seven PARASITIC JAEGERS near the Sky Harbor Airport on Park Point on 30th. Smaller numbers of PARASITIC JAEGERS have been seen by many observers over the past few weeks at Park Point and at Wisconsin Point. Karl Bardon saw a LONG-TAILED JAEGER on the 5th and on August 30th at Wisconsin Point between Gull Bluff and parking lot #1.
