Hello:
This afternoon I found nine Buff-breasted Sandpipers on the sod runways =
of the Sleepy Eye airport. At the Sleepy Eye sewage ponds there were =
sixteen very approachable Red-necked Phalaropes. In fact, there has =
been an almost constant presence of this species there since 8-17-03. =
At the sewage ponds there were also three Stilt Sandpipers (a life bird =
for me) and a Short-billed Dowitcher. There are still both species of =
Yellowlegs, Least and Pectoral Sandpipers, but there seem to be less =
numbers of these than there had recently been.
