Monday June 9 Karol Gresser and I birded Aitkin Co, stopping by at =
Milles Lac on our way to and from the Twin Cities. We logged some 93 =
species, including my lifelist bird #500, a Connecticut Warbler. On the =
snowmobile trail opposite Pietz's Road, south of Co Rd 18, we walked =
about a half mile and heard then found an active male, singing from an =
exposed dead conifer branch some 20 feet up, on east side of the trail. =
We also found a couple Black-billed Magpies in farms around Pallisade =
and at least six Sandhill Cranes from various locations in the county.
We also found two Ruddy Turnstones and seven Bonaparte's Gulls on the =
shores of Milles Lac, just to the south of the big Walleye in Gunnison.
