The following information was forwarded to me by a friend who works for =
MN-DNR. I haven't contacted him yet to verify the info, but thought you =
may be interested in the raw report:
The Bird Banding Laboratory's web site lists the oldest goldeneye
recovery on record as a 15 year, 5 month old bird. We recently received
a "Report to Bander" list with a goldeneye that was banded as a local
male in July of 1984 on Big Lake (east of Bemidji), that was shot last
November in Ashland, WI, making it a 18 year, 3 month old bird.=20
Notification has been sent to the Banding Lab.
I want those genes!
