Today I went birding up t ogrand Marais and back with Tim Smart.
Highlights:
Black Scoter =3D Paradise Beach
Surf Scoter =3D Paradise Beach
White-winged Scoter =3D Hovlund boat launch
Long-tail Ducks =3D mouth of the Cascade river on Lake Superior (50-60)
Harlequin Duck =3D Paradise Beach
Sage Thrasher =3D East side of the green power plant building in the =
campground.
White-winged Crossbill
Common Redpoll
Bohemian Waxwing
Rough-legged Hawks (migrating)
*No Mt. Bluebird refound=20
** Probable Pacific Loon seen off Park Pt. around 4pm. The head shape =
looked good, I saw a light grey hind neck and straight dark bill. The =
bird was way out and it dove a few times and I lost it! I had a few =
seconds with good light on it. So keep an eye out if your birding off =
Park Pt. near the airport.
