Today (Friday, November 14, 2003) at 2:05 p.m. I found a female Mountain =
Bluebird in Swift County at the Appleton, MN Golf Course. The bird was =
observed from the gravel road adjacent to the Golf Course for =
approximately 50 minutes at distances as close as 25 feet.
Directions to the site:
Take MN Highways 7 & 59 to Appleton, MN.
Coming into Appleton from the southeast turn right/north on S. Hering =
Street which is the second intersection after passing the twin silo West =
Con Cooperative Elevator (located on the left side). =20
Follow S. Hering Street for 10 blocks (Note it becomes N. Hering =
Street).
Turn right/east on E. Wyman Avenue which is a gravel road that takes you =
past the golf course.
Folow E. Wyman Avenue/gravel road three tenths of a mile east.
The female Mountain Bluebird was seen on the golf course side of the =
road in the 10 -15 foot tall golf course trees close to road, on the =
"winding road" sign and on the gravel road.
The Bluebird was not with any other birds.
