I observed a Red-necked Grebe in breeding plumage on Loon Lake in the city of Waseca. Loon Lake is at the west end of town. Take 12th St NW north from Hwy 14 and follow it as it curves right. You'll see the road widen out to allow cars to pull off. the grebe was not far from that location. There were decent mixes of ducks on Lake Elysian and the Janesville sewage ponds.
