[mou] Sax-Zim and St. Louis Cty in general today..

Went up to Sax-Zim area today and found 33 Great Greys and 12 Northern 
Hawk Owls between Sax-Zim and along Forest Rd 11. 

Highlights included:

5 Great Greys in a 2/10 mile stretch along Hwy 7 a mile or two south of 
the Greenhouse.
1 Northern Hawk-Owl perched low on a 3 foot high sapling right next to 
the road at the greenhouse.  Flew up and hovered several times.  What a 
show!
1 Dark-Morph (Leucistic?) Great-Grey Owl on McDavitt Rd about 4.5 mile 
south of Zim Rd.
3 Great Greys within a 300 yard stretch around the intersection of 
Forest Rd 11 & Cty Rd 44.
3 more Great Greys along Cty Rd 44 as well as another stretch further 
west on Forest Rd 11 of 4 Great Greys in a 500 yard stretch.
2 Great Greys on Young Lake Rd and 2 more close to Young Lake Rd on S. 
Melrude Rd (59)

Other birds sighted include:

Black-billed Magpie along Hwy 7.
Common Redpolls in various locations.
Boreal Chickadee heard on McDavitt Rd near the Dark-Morph Great Grey
Rough-legged Hawks and Northern Harriers at various locations
3 Bald Eagles all close to the road.
