Traveled to Highway 18 (northern Aitkin county) and western part of =
Sax-Zim on 1/1.
Had 1-2 Great Grays on 18 (one in the AM, one in the PM -one on the =
south side of the road before 320/Pietz Road, the other in the =
cemetary); numerous Northern Shrikes and two Rough-legged Hawks were =
very active in area. Missed the Sharp-tailed (10 on last visit).
Had 16 Pine Grosbeaks in a feeder west of Sax-Zim (as well as a single =
Purple Finch), and a single Gray Jay near 29. Missed the Boreals on =
203.
