Though classified as Regular species in Minnesota, the Western
Tanager is still a rare visitor to the state. Sally Jo Sorensen found
a male Western Tanager in Collinwood Park, Wright County, on the
evening of 7 May. The bird's location was described as being on the
main trail along the lake, south of the gravel parking lot.
