I been carefully keeping dates an places of all the northern owls =
reported on listserves and birds reported to me.
October totals:
Northern Hawk Owls: 34 Northern Hawks owls reported in Minnesota by =
birders. The main bulk of the reports are from NE Minnesota. =20
Snowy Owls: 2 reported in Minnesota in October
Great Grey Owls: 16 birds reported by birders in October. Interesting =
were 5 owls seen along the north shore of Lake Superior. The bulk of =
them are reported in Sax Zim Bog/ Central St. Louis and Lake Counties. =20
Boreal Owls: So far none have been found roosting or seen near feeders =
but they have been banded in good numbers in various places in NE =
Minnesota.=20
