[mou] This past weekend in Aitkin County

  This past weekend, Michelle and Jamie McDowell and I birded together
in northern Aitkin County and found a few things of note:  2 NORTHERN
HAWK OWLS, the first on C.R. 18 about 1 & 1/2 miles east of highway 169
and the second on C.R.1 about 3/10 mile north of the diversion channel
on a telephone pole. There was a GREAT GRAY OWL along the snowmobile
trail south of Pietz's road as well as PINE GROSBEAKS , GRAY JAYS and
GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLETS.  There were 6 SHARP-TAILED GROUSE on C.R.1
about 9/10 mile north of the diversion channel.      Warren Nelson
