Thanks for all the suggestions about how to keep the birds from hitting =
the windows. I may not have described the geometery of the walkway. It =
looks like:

With the bird able to see outdoors through the parallel planes of glass.

I think we finally figured out how to save the birds...we had to =
resort to hanging blankets and sheets in the windows but since we have =
done it we havent lost one bird. Hopefully our good fortune continues! =
