I spent the day in the Sax Zim area and my best find was 5-6 Evening
Grosbeaks on Blue Spruce Rd. (off 133). They were in the same location I saw them
two years ago - across the road from the 1st house on your left as you travel
north on the road. The home owners have feeders and a very vocal dog. I
stopped at the north end of their yard, just beyond the tree break. The
grosbeaks flew from the house side of the road to some tall trees on the opposite site
of the road.
Small numbers of most everything you'd expect: Pine Grosbeaks, Common
Redpolls, Purple Finches, one Ruffed Grouse, 2 Gray Jays, 5 BB Magpies, lots of RB
Nuthatches and BC Chickadees. 3 Bald Eagles, one Rough-legged Hawk - NO OWLS
and NO CROSSBILLS!!

I ran into a couple of different birders who said they had heard a GGOW was
seen on Owl Av. this morning. As far as I know it was not refound.

If anyone is seeing crossbills, please post! They're deucedly hard to come
by!
