If you have not investigated the results of Cornell's Great Backyard Bird
Count (http://gbbc.birdsource.org/), Minnesota, not unexpectedly, came out
on top for northern owls for all of North America.

Great Gray Owl: N. American total was 548; Minnesota, 316; next highest,
84 (Ontario)

Northern Hawk Owl: N. American total was 35; Minnesota, 12; next highest,
5 (Saskatchewan)

Boreal Owl: N. American total was 9; Minnesota, 2; also Manitoba, 2.

Also Minnesota had third highest total for Common Redpolls, after
Ontario and Alaska.

We will not see another year like this for a while.
