2:30pm - 4:15pm
 
Spent a couple hours this afternoon checking the spots previously reported  
for early waterfowl in Rice and Le Sueur counties, with Conny Brunell.   Here 
is what we found:
 
@ Great Blue Heron - Wells Lake, on East side of CR 12, Rice County - 4 in  
Rookery
@ Trumpeter Swan - at previously posted location and along Cannon River,  
just West of the town of Warsaw, observed from CR 71.
@ Greater White-fronted Goose - Rice County, just West of Swan location  west 
of Warsaw.  Only best viewed from Hwy. 60 at the Cannon River WMA,  just West 
of Farwell Ave..  Le Sueur County, 3 were observed in an area of  open water 
in the town of Waterville on the portion of Upper Lake Sakatah that  is West 
of Hwy. 13.
@ Cackling Goose - A single bird was observed in with the Greater  
White-fronted Geese in Rice county.
@ Northern Shoveler - Wells lake, on East side of CR 12.
