A mid-day walk in Crosby Park today tallied 44 species, including a pair =
of Broad-winged Hawks screeching while cruising the bluff line, dozens =
of Yellow-rumped Warblers (if not more), 20 or so Palm Warblers, one =
Black-and-White Warbler, one Northern Waterthrush, Rose-breasted =
Grosbeak. Additional new birds for me this year were: House Wren, =
Swainson's Thrush, Warbling Vireo.

Tuesday morning, about three Pine Siskins were at Maplewood Nature =
Center, and a Cooper's Hawk was on a nest at Hidden Falls Park in St. =
Paul. I have not yet seen any evidence that the Ford Dam Peregrine =
chicks have hatched.
