>Another point about the benefits of duck stamps: On the praries of
western and southern Minnesota, and other states, most of the wild
spots that remain are wetlands purchased by federal AND STATE
waterfowl stamp funds=2E
These are truly wild places, where some forms of nature can still
survive and even thrive -- frogs, birds of all kinds, snails,
turtles, predators, rodents=2E Maybe not Ivory Billed Woodpeckers, but
were it not for waterfowl stamps paid for mostly by hunters,
Minnesota's prairies in many counties would be plowed and cultivated,
road to road, with nary one wild spot to be seen=2E
Every federal and state waterfowl stamp purchased helps some part of
the country's wetland tradition be saved for future generations=2E
