Around 9:15 this morning I found a Northern Mockingbird in the Gustavus Adolphus
Arboretum. From Hwy. 169 in St. Peter, go west on College Ave. Follow this up
the hill to a T: go left at the T. This will take you past three dorm
buildings on your left; after the last dorm there is a stop sign. Go straight
after the stop sign and take an immediate left into the Arboretum parking
lot--look for visitor parking. Hike any of the trails into the Arboretum, as
they all lead west. Past the prairie area you will come to a large grassy area
with scattered trees. The bird was foraging in this area, especially near the
old pioneer building (which is easy to see). Good luck!
